AN AUDIO DRAMA
The Ramayana, composed by Sage Valmiki, is one of Hinduism's most cherished epics, offering timeless lessons on dharma, devotion and resilience through the life of Rama (Prince of Ayodhya) — an ideal son, husband, human and leader. This story continues to serve as guiding principles for life even today.
Chinmaya Mission New Zealand now brings this classic to life in a first-of-its-kind audio drama: Ramayana – The Legend Retold. Spanning 50 episodes of 15 minutes each, the series blends original music with local talent to share the epic's wisdom in an engaging, accessible format. Child-friendly and designed for modern listening, it can be enjoyed as bedtime stories or on the go, offering audiences a deeper, richer experience of this enduring tale.

Our goal is to have the Ramayana - The Legend Retold reach over 100,000 individuals worldwide. Proceeds from the audio production will support Chinmaya Mission's grassroot activities, and the wider educational and rural development projects.
Among Chinmaya Mission's global initiatives, Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth (CVV) is its most ambitious project. Established in 2016, CVV is a Deemed-to-be University that integrates India's timeless wisdom with modern disciplines, offering a holistic education across undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes. With campuses in Kerala and Maharashtra, it is guided by Chancellor Pujya Swami Swaroopananda, the Global Head of Chinmaya Mission.
Chinmaya Mission, founded in 1953 by devotees of Swami Chinmayananda, shares the timeless wisdom of Vedanta to foster inner growth and harmony of the collective. From its headquarters in Mumbai, the Mission has expanded to over 350 centres worldwide, now guided by Pujya Swami Swaroopananda.
Through study groups, educational initiatives and charitable programmes, the Mission offers practical tools for spiritual wellbeing and everyday living. Its grassroots arm, C.O.R.D., supports sustainable development in over 700 Indian villages, while institutions like Chinmaya International Foundation and Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth advance research and higher learning. Together, these initiatives uplift individuals and communities across all levels of society.
